Adulting Academy Privacy Policy

Adulting Academy ("the app", "the website") is an Australian life-skills learning platform operated by RGL Loans Pty Ltd (ABN 32 611 969 138), PO Box 391, Fortitude Valley QLD 4006, Australia ("we", "us", "our"). It is available as an iPhone app and at adultingacademy.com.au. This policy explains what we collect, how it is stored, and who it is shared with. We handle personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
Information we collect
- Account details: your name, email address, and password (stored securely as a hash, never readable by us) when you create an account.
- Purchase information: whether you hold an Academy Pass and how it was purchased. Payments themselves are handled by Apple (for purchases made in the app) or Stripe (for purchases made on the website). We never see or store your card details.
- Learning progress: which lessons you have completed, so your progress follows you across the app and the website.
- Email preference: whether you have opted in to occasional product-update emails.
You can browse free lessons and use all calculators without an account. The calculators run on your device and the numbers you enter are not sent to us.
We do not collect sensitive information such as health data, financial details beyond what our payment providers need, or government identifiers like Tax File Numbers. The figures you type into calculators stay on your device.
How we use your information
- To create and operate your account.
- To give you access to the content you have purchased.
- To remember your learning progress across devices.
- To send you product updates if you have opted in. You can opt out at any time in your account settings.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Who we share information with
- Supabase: our database and authentication provider, which securely stores your account, purchase status, and learning progress.
- Apple: processes payments made inside the iPhone app and manages refunds for those purchases under its own terms.
- Stripe: processes payments made on the website. Stripe is PCI-DSS compliant and its privacy policy applies to payment data it collects.
- Google AdSense: the website may display advertisements on free tools. The iPhone app contains no advertising.
These providers are not permitted to use your data for any purpose other than providing services to us. We may also disclose information if required by law.
Data retention and deletion
We keep your information for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account at any time from the Account screen in the app or the My Account page on the website. Deletion is immediate and permanent: your profile, learning progress, and purchase records are removed from our systems.
Security
Your data is stored with industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest. Access to production systems is restricted, and passwords are stored only as secure hashes.
Children
Adulting Academy is designed for Australians aged 18 to 25 and is not directed at children under 13. You must be at least 18 to create an account.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy we will notify you by email or with a notice in the app or on the website.
